Privacy Policy

Overview

Wage Place ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at wage.place. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

The short version: we do not store any salary, compensation, or personal data you enter into our calculators. All calculations run entirely in your browser.

Data we do not collect

None of the following is ever sent to our servers or stored anywhere:

  • Salaries, pay bands, or compensation figures you enter
  • ZIP codes or location data you input
  • Employee names, titles, or demographic data from CSV uploads
  • Bonus, equity, or benefits information

CSV files uploaded to the Bulk Analysis or Pay Equity tools are processed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No file data is transmitted to our servers.

Data we do collect

We collect limited, anonymous usage data to understand how the site is used and to improve it:

  • Page views and navigation — which tools are used, how often
  • Device and browser type — to ensure compatibility
  • Country-level location — not city or ZIP level
  • Referral source — how you found the site

This data is collected via Vercel Analytics and is aggregated and anonymous. It cannot be used to identify you.

Pro subscriptions

If you subscribe to Wage Place Pro, we collect:

  • Email address — to manage your subscription and send receipts
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies — only those required for the site to function (session management for Pro subscribers). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not share data with advertisers.

Data retention

Subscription emails are retained for as long as your account is active. Anonymous analytics data is retained for 12 months. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing hello@wageplace.com.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws including:

  • The right to access data we hold about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to delete your data
  • The right to opt out of data collection

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@wageplace.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
